Dear shareholders, fellow pilots, mbibi na mbwana (ladies and gentlemen),
In an effort to remain competitive, Kenya Airways Virtual has (re)launched flights to former KQ-destinations, such as Athens (Greece), Frankfurt (Germany), Zürich (Switzerland), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark) and to the Maledives.
With decreasing passenger -demand on our Nairobi – Paris – Nairobi -service, the added destinations in Europe will help secure further growth of the airline. The flights are being executed using open slots in our existing fleet of Boeing 737-700/800 aircraft thus not effecting operating costs negatively.
It is expected that passenger demand on above mentioned Euopean destinations will grow continuously allowing Kenya Airways Virtual to divert its focus from routes with declining passenger-numbers to more profitable ones.
Flights to New York, originally executed using our Boeing Dreamliner Jet (787) with a seating capacity of 230Pax have now been sceduled to our 777-200 Reg: 5Y-KYZ with a seating capacity of 384Pax.
All destinations served by Kenya Virtual Airlines, that are not in the portfolio of the real Kenya Airways, are SKYTEAM-destinations. These flights are executed as codeshare-flights (4-digit-flightno.).
Seoul (Incheon) – codeshare with Korean Air via Dubai
Sydney – codeshare with Qantas via Bangkok
Moscow (Domodedovo) – codeshare with Aeroflot via Dubai
Toronto – codeshare with Air France via Paris
Tokyo (Haneda) – codeshare with KLM/JAL via Amsterdam
New York (JFK) – codeshare with Delta Airlines/KLM via Amsterdam
Vancouver – codeshare with Air France via Paris
Kenya Airways Virtual now offers 1030flighs/week using 33aircraft, ranging from our 67Pax Embraer E170 to our 384Pax Boeing 777-200ER. Kenya Airways Virtual is also one of the first airlines to put the Boeing Dreamliner-Jet (787) into service.
Since our last stockreport (5days ago), shares have increased by another 0.18% resulting in a total share-profit of 1.88% since Kenya Airways Virtual entered service on the simmiles network. Kenya Airways is now ranking third in share-profits in the African and Middle-East -market following Hewa Bora Airways and Emirates.
I would like to use this opportunity to thank our shareholdes Hewa Bora Airways and Etihad.
Sincerely
Marc-Oliver Strack
